When is time for my fids to go to bed they have have a call they do only at bed time until i put the up give them a snack and cover the cages up. They don't want to stay up later than 10 mins past normal time even if i am playing with them.

Mine are like Melinda's. Alex says "get ready for night night?" which means cover me up, or I'll say it louder next time. That's when I know it's time for them to wind down. After that, they all stay in their cages and usually they all get sleepy and nod off.

I think each bird has their way of dealing with the oncoming of darkness, a friend of mine struggled with putting her birds to bed until she gave up and just let them go on their own. some she still had to put away, but most of the time, they would choose their own times to go to bed.

my aunts bird went to bed when it got dark, we never covered her up until we were going to bed, until then she would sleep and ignore us compleatly.
