Aviary mesh

Iā€™ve been considering building an aviary indoors instead of buying another cage but Iā€™m stuck on what to use for the mesh. Iā€™m wary of everything though because the last thing I want is for my birds to get hurt. I know stainless steel wire is an option but itā€™s very expensive to make a whole aviary from it. Does anybody have any ideas for affordable, safe wire?

Consider aluminum screening. Very weak product and the openings could be problematic when cleaning as it could dent or open. Other than stainless steel wire, you really do not have any choices as other options are either coated with heavy metal, which flakes or require powder coating, which is very expensive.

Look at larger cages.

Iā€™m not sure how strong I would need it to be as this aviary would be for small birds, Iā€™ve been looking at bigger cages but I canā€™t find anything the right size that has suitable bar spacing.
