Aviator Harness for male ekkie

Hi, I am trying to have all of my supplies ready before I bring my little guy home in January. I want to get him an aviator harness, but am unsure which size to get. He will be about 4 1/2 months old when he comes home and I would really like to only buy one harness instead of buying a smaller one then a larger one later. Would the medium work for him? Would it fit him when hes young and as he grows? I guess I'm really wondering how adjustable they are.

Well each subspecies is different in size. My Solomon Island boy is about 4 months and I got him a small size, and I don't believe he will outgrow it (But who knows? He still has some growing to do but I just don't think he will ever get big enough to outgrow this). The Small size weight suggestion was 190-425 grams.

If you have a larger subspecies, perhaps get the medium.

I would go the larger one.. It always adjusts tighter anyway

I started with the large size for my macaw, which is suggested for blue and golds.. The head loop was way too small and tight, which made it really difficult to put on and off.. Although his weight was for the large size..

But i got him the EXTRA large, and it sits sooo much better, plus he is so much happier putting it on and off, just tighten it as much as it needs to go!

Thanks for the advice guys! I guess I'll go with a medium then I can just adjust it as needed. He is a solomon island ekkie. Medium is recommended on the website so im surprised a small fits your guy? Confusing lol

Well I just followed the weight suggestion. My boy is pretty small, around 350grams, which fit well within the suggestion. The Medium suggested 425-600grams which I thought would be too big. Though after owning the harness the larger size would most likely fit as well.

Yes the head hole was small and I was concerned when I first got it that I wouldn't be able to get his head through it, but I tried and can get it on easily (When he doesn't fight me : P )

But I think the small fits perfectly on him with enough room if he happens to grow more. In hindsight maybe the medium would have been a slightly 'easier' fit through the head? But at the time I didn't know and had to take a guess lol.

I think I'm going to go with medium then. Thank you for the pictures he's so handsome! It's a definite guessing game for me too, so hopefully it fits him. Thanks again
