Hi, apologies if this is the wrong place for this question!

I recently bought a black small aviator for my galah, i now realise he doesn't like things that are black (he gets panicy if I wear a black top, if I pick up black gloves etc), so that harness is going to be no good for him.

I was just about to buy him another in pink (he likes people wearing pink/burgundy clothes), but while the small size is for galahs, it only goes up to 425g, and he is 460g (he is on a diet, I've only recently got him!)

So should I buy the medium for him or a small?
I have no idea what his healthy weight is going to be, as he doesn't look overly fat, and I don't mind replacing the harness if it gets too big, but I don't want to get one that is going to be huge on him!!

For the time being I'd go with the medium. :) You don't want the harness to be overly lose, but neither overly tight.

Hi, I dont have any knowledge of my RB2 disliking any particular colour - I would say if anything it's usually red.

From experience can you be very careful when out and about using your harness - make sure that your RB2 is absolutely happy and not nervous. Mine is not happy outside even in his cage, he is always on alert looking for predators high in the sky.

He is great in his back pack which gives him protection and he loves it.

These types of birds are used to being in a flock with all the protection that the flock affords them. :)

Thanks, think it might be happy with if it is on the lose side side I try and get him used to wearing it!

I think it stems for the fact the gauntlets used to hold him at the vets while he had his nails done were black, now he really doesn't like the colour!
The harness will be used inside to start with, there are only a couple of rooms that it would be safe for him to fly around, I'd like him to come downstairs with me occasionally, but don't want him to be able to fly away and trigger a reaction from my dog.

The dog doesn't pay attention to him, but I am not expecting him to have zero prey drive if a bird flaps past his face!

outside time would be in a little carry cage until he relaxes in the garden :)

I had to go with a size larger that recommended for my U2, especially with her big umbrella/crown it was extremely difficult and stressful for her with the smaller harness.

I went by weight rather than species listed for Jimmy's harness. It was the right choice for us.
