AviCalm Calming Supplement

Has anyone tried this? Iago is aggressive toward anyone besides my mom and I and I was wondering if this would help calm him down around strangers.

I just picked some up to help with Felixs constant picking of his feet.... I'll keep you posted!!!

Lack of scientific evidence that the product actually works as claimed. ERGO snake oil.

I feel the same way about "Plucks no more" and other magic stops plucking elixers.

I have found that they don't work very well, if at all, and are very pricey...

Just my opinion, and I am an opinionated a$$hole sometimes...

So maybe this is just me spouting off.

Hope it works for you. I'd like to be proved wrong.

:) thanks birdman.... I was just curious to know your opinion. I am trying different things to help Felix with constantly chewing on his feet....

How often do you shower this bird?

Also the 100% pure aloe, rubbed on his feet/legs, might help. Sometimes it's just dried skin, and increasing bathing, and aloe after bathing helps...

at 1/10th the cost of the magic elixirs that often do nothing...

Felix baths himsef daily.....he comes in the shower with me a few times a week... I have never tried aloe...do you mean aloe from the plant directly?

No.

There is a product that is 100% pure aloe vera gel. (No additives.) You can probably find it at the local Wal-mart, or any health food store.

Just curious why you said to use aloe vera gel and not aloe from an aloe vera plant?

Only because I've never tried to extract it from the plant.

I use the bottled stuff, that's already been extracted.

Aloe Vera plants are safe for humans and parrots :). I had a HUGE aloe plant...you basically just slice off like an inch chunk, squuueeeeeze the gel out and apply!

I have used a similar product and can say it works with some birds. This is a link to the product I had success with, I used it on some old breeders that I was fostering. It did calm most of them down, and I was able to hand tame several while using this.

Hey Jewelz, have you tried out your calming supplement yet? I'm curious to find out how it works
