Precious was delivered yesterday and seems to have adjusted nicely! She's still on formula (4.5 months old) so we use that as a treat for training four times a day. Last night, she didn't come out of the cage, but this morning, it was no problem, and after a day with her, she doesn't want to leave my side. Keeps flying to wherever I am, haha. I'll need to station train her soon I think.

She's picking at vegetables and seems to enjoy her toys and surroundings. Here are some pics of her on her tree perch and in her cage. Still planning on adding a ceiling cargo net so she can hang upside down if she likes and branches to the back wall so she can climb up if she wants.

The video at the end is recall training on her first day with us.

Precious is so precious and lovely.

She has the best family/home in the world.....

Welcome home baby girl Precious.;)

Welcome home Precious! She was nicely socialized by the breeder and you've done an amazing job creating her habitat. Love the slo-mo feeding video!

Beautiful girl and nice cage setup! Can we get more pics of it? I love it!!

I need to get more looffas when I'm there next time! I saw a bunch at one of the markets in Mandaluyong. I'm sure it's super cheap, too.

I just want to say how much I love the fact that you researched and planned and prepared for her--- I know sometimes I asked a lot of questions etc (and I am sure that won't change lol!) BUT, I am happy for you and I hope all continues to go well!!!

Beautiful family and beautiful bird! Just make sure you are super careful about temperature, sterilization, cross contamination etc etc when hand-feeding.

Thanks so much everyone. The advice and ideas I've gained here have gone a long way towards making this homecoming a successful one. While the trainer/breeder did a good job with socializing and training, he didn't have anything close to the knowledge I've found in this forum. I might have followed his recommendations like only 1 toy in the cage or not needing dedicated sleep time or the many other tips he had, if I had not learned otherwise here. So thanks again!

TFW, there are more pictures of the cage in my post entitled something like "progress of my custom bird cage" . Something like that anyway. Should still be on the first page of the Cages subforum. I'll post newer pics there soon. One good thing about bird ownership in the Philippines: bamboo and loofah and coconuts are practically free hahaha.

Day two and she's much more active in her cage. Seems to be more comfortable exploring and playing on different perches.
