Rio - Green Cheeked, Yellow Sided, Male Conure. Hatch date estimates as fall of 2015.
Cici & Bibi - Budgies
I have searched the internet and I am still baffled by my conures behavior.. I find articles about head bobbing with some saying he is irritated and others saying he is trying to interact. However, mine does more than that,...

Rio bobes his head up and down fast with his beak open, stops and then moves his tongue around as if eating peanut butter with his mouth open. His is usually chattering too (not squawking).

What does it mean or what does he want?:greenyellow:

Hi Scamperdoo. Can you get a video of Rio doing this so we can see it but Im guessing he is regurgitating...if he is indeed regurgitating then he probably wants to feed you or feed some one of his toys LoL :) Maybe others would have other ideas but without actually seeing a video of it its hsrd to say for sure.

Agree with Birdgirl there... Sounds like the conure version "i love you".... which starts with quick head bobs and mouth open. Indeed... he is showing what a good daddy he will be... Now if you got him on your hand while he does this next he might grasp on with his claws and/or beak and start humping your hand.

Oh, my. LOL. Thank you for your insight and guidance. At least I know he likes me LOL.

Skittles will bob his head up and down rapidly when I have something he wants as if to say 'pretty pretty please'! He will also stick his tongue out and wag it when liquid is being poured. Its cute most of the time, only 'awkward' time is when he does it while I'm taking a leak. lol
