Every bird is different (as stated above)! My 'zon does this sometimes too, but because he's being protective. Amy could definitely be happy though :)

It sounds to to me like Amy is having fun and showing off with some acrobatics and chatter. My old Yellow-crowned Amazon George used to do that a lot too.

That sounds so cute. Many moons ago, I fostered a Timneh African Grey who did that when she was excited to see us after work. Amy is probably really happy to be home!

I was reading parrot articles on my lunch break today and one of the things explicitly called out in a bulleted list of behaviours was: Hanging Upside Down - as a sign of happiness and emotional comfort in the surroundings :)
