I have had my cheech for well over a month and he doesn't take baths and I've misted him a couple of times, but he's not into water it seems! Does anyone have some advice about this!! I've also tried offering a bath during vacuuming, giving a clear bowl a red bowl!

Have you tried another arrangement for a bath.

-bring him in shower with you (lots of threads about that in this forum).
-sink
-big pan in kitchen or bathroom with little water in it
-different bathing location inside cage

Is it possible he's bathing when you aren't around. You'd probably know from the looks of the water and cage though.

i would try taking him in the shower :)
fargo hated being misted! but loves the shower :)

The first several months I had Molly I tried every different bowl in my kitchen to get her to bathe. I tried the sinks, the tub & shower. Finally I saw a green plastic dish that was about eight inches in OD and about 1.5 inches high. It worked perfectly but the water had to be cold and running and I had to hold the dish under the kitchen faucet. Molly would then run down my arm and dive in! LOL. Now, a year and a half later Molly likes a mirror finish stainless steal bowl. They're finicky so just keep trying.

I took mine to the shower with me and placed him on the curtain rod while showering, after awhile he would step up to me and i could splash him with water, slowly i placed him on a shower perch, it took time before he liked the idea

Try running water in the sink, my guys get so excited if someones in the kitchen washing up, its bath time as far as they're concerned!
Mine like ice cold water too, even all throughout winter

I tried the sink too he was on my finger when I turned the water on and he bolted up my arm and his in my hair! Lol

for their water bowls I use heavy white round corningware crocks that are about 6 inches across and 1and1/2 inches deep in the bottom of the cage and they have started taking a morning bath in them then I just wash and refill it for the rest of the day:D

I had the same problem with my new red belly. He was quite distressed at being sprayed and when I offered him a dish of water or put him in the sink he dove out and up my arm. I brought him in the shower with me today and he didnt like it much at first, but he didnt react as strongly as when I tried other methods. By the end of the bath he was really relaxed and walked right under the water. I have a plastic rode in the tub part of my shower for getting in and out. I put him on there and directed the water so he could step out of it if he wanted. I was thinking he would benefit from the humid air and it would take time for him to get use to it, but he walked right into the spray all on his own. Afterward he rearranged my hair for hours (then promptly pooped in it so I had to shower again)

What if my bird decides he is scared in the shower and wants to get out im soaking wet what do i do

Get at small portable perch online, Petco, Petsmart or at your local bird shop. Take it into the bathroom with you and have it near the shower so if he gets scared and doesn't want to be in the shower with you just place him on the perch. If you get a actual shower perch then you can place him on the perch away from the spray, mist of the shower.
