Two sun conures - Olivia and Caillou
How long do you let your conures bathe? I turned the shower on a little so that they had a slight spray from the top and then a little bit of water in the bottom and they LOVED it. They just sat there under the water and did not want to get out lol. I only let them in there for about 5 minutes, I didn't want to over do it. So I was just wondering what you do and the time you let them stay in their bath. Thanks!

(i missed the photo op for the actual bath but here's a couple pics of them afterwards)

I normally let mine bathe until he's ready to be done

how do you know they're ready? lol. (new owner, so bare with me hehe)

Probably the majority of parrot owners gauge shower lengths by what is convenient for us, but if you consider that your bird's wild cousins may sit/fly through days of rainy season, it really is not a big deal.....now, if I had a choice, I'd forgo days of rain...but that's just me.

I just let them bathe for as long as they want lol when there done they'll get out of the water and stop:) some days they may bathe longer then others depending on how they feel!

okies :) that helps. I just felt like I was drowning them letting them sit in there so long lol. They were loving it. Next time I will definitely let them stay then. Thanks :)

If when you're taking them out of the bath and they act like they want to go back in, I would let them. When they're done, they will come out of the bath very willingly.

Talking parrots catch on very quickly to a repeated phrase said at certain times... Sweet Pea loves to go back and forth to the bath before she is completely done. So she'll jump out and sit on the inside of the shower door, while preening here and there. I think she finds a dry spot, lol.. because she'll jump back in the water and splash around some more, then get back on the inside lower rim of the shower door. In the beginning I wasn't sure if she had more to do, so I'd ask "Ready?" and she learned to say that when she was done.

They will simply come out of the water when they're done! Mine likes to take baths in his water dish for some reason lol, even if its really cold!

Mine is a big show off...he too will bathe in his water dish, but only when we have company...otherwise, he loves to shower with me or in a chinese takeout dish i have for him.
