So my budgie would not go near water (except to drink) because i had to forcefully bathe her about the first month or two after i got her but a year later i think she really wants to bathe! when i was washing dishes she was at the end of her playgym closest to me and was doing the whole bathing dance! i was flicking water at her and she was having a great ol time:) she also liked to be misted so thats how i bathed her before.

But anywho! is it ok to put millet in water?? i was thinking of getting a big plate and putting some water and a piece of millet in the middle so she had to get in the water to get it! and hopefully remember how fun taking a bath is!! do you think it'll work? or do you have any other ideas? has anyone else ever had this problem?

i dont know about millet but you can use someseeds/nuts. you could also spray her with a mister. leave the water in the cage for the whole day to let her bathe herself at will. give her a shower. use the handsprayer in your kitchen sink.(the water a good temp and not to fast of course.) all of those are good options. hope i helped

She's not too fond of nuts and stuff, i used a mist her before, she doesn't spend much time in her cage during the day, she freaks out in the bathroom and we dont have the sink sprayer anymore though that woulda been a good idea /:

using a mister, spray upwards towards the ceiling instead of directly at her, that way she gets a rain-like effect

Have you tried to bath her like this?

Not much water, but a lot of green grass and dandelion in the water.
Test to start the vacuum cleaner at same time.

I fill a large white baking dish with cool water in my kitchen sink then I leave the faucet running on small amount running into the dish so that you hear the dripping sound in the water bot my quaker and my yellow sided gcc love to bath that way. THE DISH IS ABOUT 1 INCH DEEP BY 7 INCHES WIDE AND ABOUT 10 INCHES LONG It fits in the sink and I put the dish over the drain so the excess water just goes down the drain. Sorry I meant to hit the shift buttton and hit cap lock instead. They bath in the water then stick there heads under the faucet:D

Ya i had to bathe her by the sink so she wont go near it! she's afraid of it:( but she'll stand at the closest point from her play gym but thats where she draws the line! lol i tried using romane lettuce one time(the green leafy part) but that was about 4-5 months ago so maybe now she'll try it now i don't have much grass or i woulda thown alot in there! and when i vacuum she chirps really loud the whole time so ill see if that'll work. but the millet wont go bad or anything if i try that out if the grass doesn't work??

I use a mister with Rosie and also let her sit on the shower door while I take showers so she gets all that great humidity. Only once in a blue moon does she act like she really enjoys it lol

IT WORKED!!! She got in the water!:) i just put normal seeds in one of those little condiment cup lids that are clear and stuff? you know what im talking about? well anyway i got a big plate put some water and put the lid in the middle with seeds and she got in the water to eat the seeds! now i just gotta get her to actually bathe:) step one accomplished!! haha:)
