Sun Conure
Finally decided to join.. I've gotten so much tips on how to make my birds life just a little bit happier just by reading a lot of the threads. My sun conure is gonna be 2 in February, and has been so cool, and has been thru 3 different apartments, so I feel like that has helped him be good with change. A lot of things I have done with my bird, I've done with out really thinking about, and turns out I was on the right path. So his/her name is Mango. He/she is not clipped. I have a 4 year old daughter, which he/she sees as a threat, beacause of her rapid movements. But it's fine,my wife and I have worked it out. We have a curtain half way thru the apartment, which allows us to have Mango out and flying. I love that little guy/gal:orange:

About once every 2 weeks, I put Mango on my my bike and take him/she out for like a 2+ hour bike ride. I put a towlt over half of the travel cage. Around this time of the year in south Florida, there seem to be ALOT of vultures , and he gets in alert mode.

Hi and welcome! That's great that you take Mango (love the name) for bike rides! Can you post pics?...we love pics..lol.

Hello and welcome! Glad you joined us. I love the colorful sun conures. Sounds like Mango is a great addition to your family. We'd love to see photos.

Hey, I am new here too, and also have a sun conure. I understand what your going through, having a bird and small children. I have 3 boys, ages 1,3 and 4. My one year old is kind of afraid of the bird, but the other two love him.

Yeah Mango is a nice name. Even though I have met so many people that have named their small parrots mango. Lol. And CFELLOWS, does your sun conure lunge at your kids sometimes? I've been teaching my daughter over time to be slow while walk near his cage. And how old is your sun?
