Hey everyone,
I wasn't sure where I should post this this little tid bit...so hopefully here is good.
Anyway, all of us with birds know what a pain cleaning the poo off the perches, swings, ladders, cage grate etc. can be.
Well, I have to say the best tool for the job that I've found so far has been a toilet bowl brush, the horseshoe shaped kind...WOW! It fits PERFECTLY between the rungs of the ladders and cleans them good with hardly any work at all.
I always soak the perches in water for a couple min's to get things loosened up and then rub with the brush and voila...just like new. I use it for everything even the cage bottom. Does great with textured perches as well. It's "Scrubby" enough to get the "stuck on's" OFF and gentle enough to not scrape scratches into the cage tray bottoms. (such as a wire brush might).
Of course, I bought a toilet bowl brush for just the birds, not using the one for our toilet.
They are easy to sanitize and they last a LONG time!
Happy cleaning!
Toni
