I need to take my bird out of country what papers do you need and also how do you prepare the birds for air travel

It makes a difference what bird you have. CITIES appendix 1 and 2 birds will need a export/import permit and you need to research your destination as well. I would start on CITIES permit as far as 1 year in advance. Vet records, hatch certificates, that could help prove ownership would be helpful. As far as preparing the bird, get him used to his travel cage. Take him places with people and noise. Leave him in there for longer and longer periods of time. International travel with a protected exotic species is a big deal so get in touch with the USFWS , USAD and get all the info you can. You will need to check with custom as they have a couple of rules and fees that apply also. It's a pain but you can travel to some places with your pet exotic bird. Do your homework.

I have two budgies do I also need a health permit and would a adoption paper work for proof of ownership
