American Bulldog Mix,
I am looking into going to a huge bird show, but can't find any information on the details, except small ones. There are no local ones around and for me to drive hours on hours to get one I wold like to make it worth the trip. Any suggestion? Any shows that I just should not miss?

Baltimore Bird Fanciers just hosted one 2 weekends ago. It was not huge but there was some good vendors there. It was in Parkville, MD. These are the only bird shows in MD. Phoenix Landing sponsors lectures all over but there are usually no birds there. You can google both of these organizations and check schedule of events.

I think there is one around my neck of the woods in the upcoming months.
I will check when and get back to you. I'm not sure if it's too far for you though :/

Bird fairs are not the best place to buy a bird. Reason being there are many birds in a closed environment where diseases and viruses can be spread. There are many articles about this on the net.

I has never been to one. I would love to go visit one though.
Then come home, burn my clothes and shower a couple of times , lolol.
Then say hello to everybody :)

Has anybody ever bought things like toys etc..at a bird fair ?

the only even t I have ever been to was Parrot Palooza and its okay but i go every year. I dont mind traveling and making a weekend out of it, just so long as its worth it. Im not really looking into buying anything from a bird fair- especailly not a bird (Ive heard the horror stories). I just want to hear some amazing lectures and advice and demonstrations, etc

Bird Shows/Fairs/etc. are not like they were years ago. Now, they are more like Bird Flea Markets. There used to be lectures, demonstrations, things like that. Some of them, you could spend the whole day at. I still go, and buy things like supplies. And they are a good place to meet other bird people.
