Bird Talk Magazine Ceased Publication

What about my paid subscription? That's bs.

That really stinks .... Wonder what happened ? I entered a pic of Cosmo for their 2013 photo contest , guess that won't happen : (

Nooooooooooooooooo! Well this stinks! I love that mag, the posters in it are up in my bird room.
DARN!

I am saddened by this news but not surprised. Over the years this magazine has gotten thinner and thinner. It will be missed by all of us.

Wow. While I've been disappointed by the lack of more technical information, I hate to see it fold. Bummer.

No! :( I loved BirdTalk.

I loved their magazine too :(.
It will be missed , that's for sure.
I always loved when I would sit down and read it cover to cover the first day it came I the mail...I'll beit , many interruptions ,but I still read it , lolol.

The internet is what happened lol. ;)
It said in the article that more and more people are going online to get information and its not slowing down.

Just an FYI, you can get digital PDF's of your favorite issues and the Birds USA 2012 annual issue (hard copy) is available at:
Bird Talk
Birds USA

I thought this last issue was one of the best~ so what happens to the $$ we spent on the subscription??

Awww...I really enjoyed this mag. I am gonna miss reading this and I really enjoyed the articles and all the pics. I am gonna miss the Memo to Parker and Pepper, I also actually liked checking out the websites from the ads. I dont have internet at work so I would bring my mag and read that, now what??? I think that Birdtalk is the only Parrot mag, does anyone know of another monthly printed mag??

Official Announcement from the editor of BIRD TALK Magazine

It's to be expected, but at the same time, rather sad. I like sitting down and reading a magazine or physical book - not a big fan of the eBooks. It's a strain on the eyes. *sigh* I hope that other magazines don't follow suit. What else am I supposed to do when sitting in the doctor's office for an hour??*

* - I'll generally stop at the Newsagent and pick up a bird or fish magazine before going so I have my own reading material there. :p

According to the editor:

"You can find out about your subscription information by going to the customer service link here or call 800-695-6088. Subscriber letters will be sent next week."

Darn that is sad. I just subscribed after I got Jasper and would always put up the new "centerfolds" on the wall near his cage for him to look at.

I also subscribe to "Parrots Magazine". And being a member of the American Federation of Aviculture (which anyone can be a member of for a fee) I get the "AFA Watchbird Magazine" published 4 times a year.

How are those magazines? I was just talking to my mom about getting a subscription to BirdTalk this week. Boy I am sad. I used to buy it at the magazine store. :(
