Okay, so we've all seen those adorable photos of the cockatoos in Santa suits and reindeer antlers...

Well, I think Jimmy's game to try to wear some pilot goggles this Halloween. She's a great sport when it comes to bird suits and sweaters and that sort of thing, but I've never tried putting anything on her head. Though with how often she walks around with a big tuft of down hanging out of her beak, she'd make a great Col. Mustard...

How the heck do you make safe bird headgear? What do you use for a chinstrap? How do you make sure it's not too loose or tight?

She'll be indoors in familiar territory, and harnessed. I just need something that we can use for maybe 20 minutes for photos. :43:

My little Lucifer would never tolerate such stuff. But I greatly admire you and your amazing little trick-or-treater! Can't wait for the pictures!

You could try the toy departments or toy stores in the doll clothes section, you could probably find hats and add a soft cotton strip for a chin strap. A lot of pet stores carry pet costumes, you might find something small enough that you could make it work.

Unless your bird is already used to wearing a harness, the big trick will be getting him to put his head thru any strap etc.

She is good with straps going over her head, and suits going over her head. I just want to make sure what I do isn't going to cause discomfort.

I'll look for a non-elastic strip of soft cotton - thanks Allee!

Maybe look at doll outfits? I would LOVE to see a photo of a birdie dressed up as an aviator:D
