None of my guys are enthusiastic about pellets. Today I made bird food. I used pellets as a base(soaked and mashed)...Then I added pumpkin, zucchini, cinnamon, nuts, 12 grain cereal, millet grits, eggs, brown rice, apple, corn meal, a little whole wheat flour.

I tend to use whatever is on hand in the fruits and veggies group. I have another "bread" made two weeks ago that includes more fruits and veggies, and no pellets. I plan on feeding one for breakfast and one for dinner.

The best thing is that they'll be eating their pellets, and won't even know it!!! LOL!!!

LOL! When I saw the title to your thread, I thought I would suggest you put them in Birdie bread. You did! Yay!

Great idea !

I live in nz and we don't get corn meal. What would be an equivilent supstitue that's still healthy for the fids

Can you get Polenta...which is actually a coarser ground cornmeal? I use the Cornmeal to help firm up the dough...You could just use any whole grain product... More Whole Wheat flour, or more 12 grain cereal. If it's too sticky after baking, it makes a bigger mess. I don't follow an exact recipe, but use whatever is on hand.

Yes we have polenta thanks Sharon I may give it a try

Here's a question. Would this be ok to feed inplace of their pellets?
