If I get near Boo with a spoon, fork or knife, he backs up and gives me a look like "What the &#$@ is that doing here?!?" It's my hand or nothing.

Seemingly curious they are scared of just about and mostly anything.
Same story with Dusky only exception is perch stick or pencil.
How they made macaws ride miniature bikes is beyond me.
