Hey I have got a a blue INR almost 2 months old.The problem with this guy is he was raised by its parents and at 1 and half months was removed from the nest and I adopted him. Now he has never has never been around humans as he was always in the nest . . . so he's scared of me . . . so after few days he will be fine right ?
Also I tried hand feeding it . . my first time :/ [actually the breeder taught me how to make the formula and feed it to the bird . . but he taught me on a tamed 2 month old jenday conure who was used to humans . . . but my IRN is NOT !!]

so he doesnt understand I am feeding it . . . He ate little . . .not much . . .What should I do ?

All I know is that he is sleeping on half filled crop . .may not be even half filled . . crop is showing a minor bulge . . .

What should I do ?
I am taking him to a vet soon.
Its been just 1 day since he came to my place . . .

He's damn healthy . . thats what I think . .
I have attached some pics of him . .

Please also advice how many feeding/day . . .breeder said 3 . . .
Also he didnt tell me much about weaning process but said I should give some corn after 15 days . . .

Please help me out . . .
ps:I dont know the gender . . .but I will call him he for time being . . .

EDIT : Just a while back I feeded him again and he had lots [i.e.he actually ate the formula . . ] . . .now may be he's starting to learn the sad truth that his parents aint gonna come feed him :(
I hope I am giving him all love he needs right now ...
Any tips to gain his trust will be excellent !!

This bird has likely imprinted on his parents of course. I may not be of much help but perhaps a homemade puppet that resembles the parrot might get your baby ringneck excited.

Just a thought.

just keep your company with him, and the time will do the rest, let him get used to your voice. don't worry, he feels.

Just keep going. Your both learn together. When I brought mine home she was older but still on 3 feeds a day plus soften pelites (dry pelites mixed with a little water) and seed mix. At first she was doing good with me feeding her but each day she started eating more on her own so I cut her feed to two a day then one, she let me know she didnt want me to feed her anymore, and now shes a very much a do it myself kind of girl. By the looks of him he will need 3feeds a day for awhile but that's the time you get to use to make life long friends.

He looks a lot younger than 2 months old... In all the photos he doesn't seem to support his own head?

I always use a bent spoon, when hand feeding... That way the bird swallows and the food is likely to go into the right place.

Any news on this bird?

I think it is pretty low for a breeder to not give you a lot of info or practice with hand-feeding. Thankfully he is with someone like you. Just saw your edit, glad he is eating better. As the others have said, he'll get used to it. He sure is cute. :3
