Parrots
Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
This was posted by another user a few days ago, but then lots of members indicated that they still exist in captivity...I am not sure...It is sad, either way.

Yes. Sad, either way. Very sad. Very.

Cyanopsitta Spixii aka the Spix Macaw is Extinct in the Wild (EW). Some still exist in captivity in different breeding programs.

They are thought to be one of the most valuable parrot species, due to their rarity. On the black market in the 90s one would sell for about 200 000 USD, only imagine the price today...

If I were a millionaire I would purchase as many as I could and donate them to specialised breeding programs.

Sad indeed. There is no holistic approach to humanity sharing this planet with other species. Pockets of care and goodness exist, but it is a pittance and virtually impossible uphill battle.

Successful breeding/re-introducing programs exist, but are minuscule compared to the need.

Good idea SammyAndy, calling Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, that guy from Amazon, here’s something you could help out with, save the parrots!
