Bonds with everyone?

Ok, so I have read about the whole bonding, they snuggle, head bop, try to puke for you etc..

Now Jacob does this with almost everyone instantly.. he just LOVES people.. He will climb up on them, play with hair, bop the head, etc..

From what I understood this is not common, that they are picky, one person birds and so on.. what could have made him like this? Yesterday when I was in Petco I handed him to an old co worker of mine, he climbed up on her head, sat there content as heck while she was working and I walked around doing my shopping.. He didn't scream for me or anything.. When I come back he's happy to see me, but he's not really MY MOM etc..

I am happy for that, it makes it easier, I love passing him around to people, it's good for him, makes him tired, and keeps him socialized.
He does prefer women over men, men he will take a small moment on him before he as readily climbs up on but not a huge moment..

can anyone enlighten me on my odd birds behavior?

I think a lot of Conures are very social. It may be that when he gets scared he will go to you or he has not fully bonded to anyone so he is still able to handled by everyone. I'm still relatively new to Conures so just what comes to mind. Hope it helps.

Lovely when a bird bonds with everyome.
When we got Mishka at 6 weeks he was handled by everyone he came into contact with.
Today he will step up for anyone.
He also wants to kiss everyone within kissing range.

Every individual bird is different and they react different. He may be socialized early on in life that he enjoys going to everyone for some loving!

Thank you, and that goes back to my previous feeling, someone put in a tremendous time on this bird.. I still feel someone gotta be missing him... I have read so much about conures being people specific, really loud etc.. He is probably one of the most well behaved conures that I have heard of. Loves everyone, interacts happily with everyone, never tries to bite, he did once and not even then very hard when he was panicking, he gave me a little pinch and drew a little little blood.. I have no doubt in my mind he could bite harder... And he is only loud every so often when he gets excited when new people come in, but he calms down after 2-3 minutes and now hangs with them.. Its not like he's super destructive either, he sticks to his toys.. Now THEY are destroyed on the other hand... lol Its just weird.. I have a hard time believing someone let him out..

You sound like you are doing a great job!!!! I know it hard to imagine that someone just let him go. But you did find him and you tired everything to find he's owners. I'm sure that it was ment to be!!!! He's sound like a lovely baby!!!!!
