So we have had Chuck a week now and every day we see new feathers blooming. He has a wing flapping frenzy every now and then-not sure what that is? Is he excited, have I upset him or is he flexing his wings for flight soon. Typing this with him nestled in the crook of my bent arm- he's dozing in and out of sleep making some kind of soft muffled whistling/chirps, with his tail slightly flapping, im taking he's content.

We enjoy him thoroughly.:green:

Chuck sounds like a sweetheart! I bet he is just stretching his wings to get ready to fly. Pictures, please please please:)

Chuck, what a perfect name! Sounds like Chuck is a happy little guy. Young birds have a strong startle response that could cause flapping but more than likely, as others have said, he's testing those new wings.

Thats really exciting, would love to see pictures of the little guy. I would be interested in getting a little baby at some point.

Here is some pics of Chuck- a busy body of note.

The name Chuck was my daughters choice- from The Angry birds movie: Chuck is the yellow bird, and from there my husband and myself jokingly said ok Chucky when he's angry and Chuck Norris when he breaks things and packed up laughing and the name has stuck........:29:

My heart is melting!! Chuck is absolutely adorable!!!

Re: Brand new baby Pionus owner-----Update.1 Chuck is flying

Its now week 2 from getting Chuck and he has started flying as from this morning-his breakfast was taking too long and decided to fly the coup--- but just to the couch, 😲. Id like to know: he is not eating seeds yet, only plays with it but i still give him his 3 feeds still. Is this ok?

Yep. Self weaning is the best. He'll just start to refuse formula, as he starts to eat veg and fruit and seeds. Keep those always available, he will wean himself. He is really cute.
