Breeding frequency

Hi all

What is the normal breeding cycle for eclectus ie. how many times do they usually breed in a year?

Mine start to lay egg 4-5 weeks after I take the babies out of their nest.

Is this normal?

They will breed all year round. Mine if i let them will have 5 clutches. I don't take the babies for hand rearing until they are almost 5 weeks old. Even then 4 weeks later she has 2 more eggs & by the time the last clutch is weaned the next is ready to take.

I have to close off the nest box to give the hen a break.

I have to take the babies out because the hen has a very bad habit of plucking the babies feather.

So 3 to 4 clutches a year is okay?
