One of my friends keeps saying you can breed an amazon parrot and a cherry headed conure and I don't think you can... So we decided to ask you guys. Is it possible?

I have no idea and would not want to find out!!

But seriously, the size differential is substantial, and I don't think it would advance aviculture. Experienced breeders might have a more complete answer!!

I am not going to answer your question, as I find it ill-advised to proceed with such a mating. As stated by Scott, "I don't think it would advance aviculture."

What one thinks they can do and what one should do for the "Good Care of their Parrots" is two very different things.

At present, there are estimates approaching 1,000,000 (a million) Companion and Breeder Parrots World Wide in search of a forever home. With that kind of suffering, why would anyone want to bring into this World such a combination?

Consider this as a discussion point with your friend: What can We Do to Reduce the Extensive Suffering of the Existing Population of Parrots Simply Looking for a Home!
