Does your eclectus bury his/her beak in his/her feathers for an extended period of time? My male does this especially. He buries his beak in his feathers and keeps his beak there for long periods of time, without moving. I never noticed my female doing this, but I saw her do it a few times recently. What is he doing? Warming his beak??

Sorry the pic came out sideways...not sure why. Hope you can turn your heads and see what he's doing.

Sleeping! LOL

They tuck their heads when they sleep. Not all do, but many do.

One of my girls has no feathers on her belly or back, but she still tucks her head onto the back of her wing to sleep. It's quite odd to see her like this and watching her enabled me to understand that they do just rest their beaks on their back, not actually under a wing like is sometime portrayed in stories.

Mango buries his whole head under his wing, if I can catch him at it Ill take a picture. He also sleeps on one foot, and if he really gets into it, he will chatter and wobble. :09:

Oliver turns his head and tucks it into his feathers very similar to your Rumi especially when he is very tired and goes into a deep sleep. He also chatters and wobbles like Mango. It's so cute. Gotta love our feathered bundles of joy!

I thought he might be sleeping, but then his eyes are often open, and he even makes sounds! But you guys are reporting similar things. So I suppose he is. He is very relaxed when he does it, so he must be sleeping.
