Hi, I am looking to get a green cheeked conure very soon.

I've owned budgies and a cockatiel in the past, and still own a budgie cage thats 25 inch long 22 inch high and 14 inch deep, which seems like it would be a good size for the room I have, but when I pulled it out of storage I remembered how much of a pain it is to clean with its tiny hatch and no bottom grill meaning taking it apart every time.

Anyhow I have been looking online for a new suitable cage, dimensions would need to be similar could probably go 25 -30 inches high, about 30inches wide about 16inches deep.

It seems so hard to find a cage about this size, they all seem to be really small or gigantic, I would love to have a huge cage but due to space limitations I can't, and in any cage, once tamed he/she will spend lots of time out of the cage anyhow.

For example I have seen this one

*NEW* RAINFOREST AMAZONA 1 BUDGIE FINCH COCKATIEL LARGE BIRD CAGE *FREE TOY!* | eBay

I'm trying to find out the height without the stand atm, but would something like that be suitable do you guys think ?

Or do any of you know of good alternatives about the size I am looking for.

Oh, I am uk based, and looking to spend about 100 pounds at most

Cheers.

Hi there
I am also in Uk and been cage hunting all afternoon. I have a GCC. I found this one on Amazon, but i am not sure if the bar spacing is too wide for a GCC. I want a lot more space for Chunky, but it wont be any good if he can squeeze through the bars.

what size is the cage you currently have ?

Its a teeny bit smaller than the one you linked to. The problem is that when you add toys etc, there very little room for him to move. Its not too bad for him in the short term as he spends most of the day out of the cage with me, but i really want something bigger for him to have plenty of play room.

You guys need a cage with bar spacings of around 1.27mm.....1cm is too small & 2.5cm is too large.....

Good luck.....

Thanks weco. I dont fancy my chances of finding it in a larger size, but i will keep hunting.

I assume you mean 1.27 cm not mm hehe, but really does that extra 0.27 cm make much of a difference ?

How are you getting on? I cant find what i want now, mainly because i want a seed catcher around the bottom.

Ive been out beating my dad on a dartboard so haven't looked at anymore, annoying thing is, when looking, cause I want one with a bigger door it makes the cages look really small in the pictures haha

Just spotted this one
LIBERTA DAHLIA LARGE BLACK BUDGIE PARAKEET COCKATIEL LOVE BIRD CAGE NEW | eBay

Quite a bit cheaper than the other one

has the grill in the bottom, and a bigger door, which are pluses, would definitely have to use different food pots tho, never been a fan of those type

also amazon yields this result

[ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/BLACK-TAZMIN-BUDGIE-CANARIES-PARROTLETS/dp/B004VW4F68/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1425571300&sr=8-18&keywords=parrotlet+cage#productDetails"]BIRD CAGE BLACK TAZMIN BUDGIE CANARIES PARROTLETS BIRDS: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies[/ame]

again has a grill and a bigger door, I like the idea of the door opening to create a platform

Nice cages.

Ive had to change everything as i am also getting a hand reared cockatiel in a couple of weeks. Space is an issues for us. I came across a compromising solution that also happens to colour match my curtains :D

Aviary Bird Cage in Grey / Pistachio | Wayfair UK

Being stacked it saves space and looks good too.
