My conures cage is in a corner by the window I live in ohio and its starting to get cold, the only other place is have is between 2 chairs with no wall! I've heard keep their cage by a wall to help them feel safe! I'm just looking for some advice here thank you!!

My birds--budgies, a conure, and an amazon--all love being by a window. They get really annoyed when I move them to a more boring location! As long as you don't have serious drafts and keep the room above 60 degrees, your bird should be fine. You could always add a bit of hanging blanket at the cage edge of the favorite sleeping perch as a little comfort corner... I just added a little snuggle thing to my conure's cage: I took strips (maybe an inch thick, eight inches long) of some good wool felt that I had on hand, cut a hole at the top of each strip and then strung them together on a clip. I hang it from the cage top and in falls like a mop onto Cyrus's sleeping perch. He snuggles into it sometimes to sleep--very cute.

He has a furry purple snuggle blanket at the end I'd his perch, but seems to want nothing to do with it! Lol maybe it's the color!

In my last house Georgie's cage was next to a HUGE window and she just loved it. She also seemed 'bored' by not having a window to see what's going on around her. I always kept certain favorite toys surrounding her favorite high perch (her sleeping/resting perch) and it was fine.

I live in michigan and I also have to keep my cages by windows. I used to worry a bit about it, but it has been years and they have been fine. Here is what I do: When it gets colder, I put a sheet or thin blanket (sometimes 2 if it is very cold) on the part of the cage that is nearest the window. Sometimes I cover 3 sides and only leave the front open if it is really cold. If you keep your house warm, it should be enough to just use a blanket on the side nearest the window.

I have a blanket pegged to the backside of the cage (wall splattering by my guys is amazing...) so that's served as a kind of wall? They've never chewed on it or anything so you could try that if you're concerned about not having that wall to rest against.
