Alright, I was afraid it might be too small. But he will not be spending much time in his cage at all. Sleeping will probably be the main time. While I am at school my mom will be watching him. So he will have plenty of interaction. The cage is the same size as the one at the port store the lady told me would be a good size for an Eclectus but she was charging 700 and the play top was not as nice. I am excited about it.

I took a look at the eBay listing and it says it is for the smaller parrots. If it has not shipped yet you might want to ask the seller if you can change it to a larger one. Below is copied from the listing.
This Cage is recommended to fit breeds of birds as follow:
Species
Minimum Cage Size
Caiques
Jardines
Pionus
Poicephalus - Senegals, Red-bellied, Meyer's Parrots
Conures - Sun, Gold Cap, Blue Crown, Jenday Green Cheek, Nanday
24"Wx 24"D x 36"H

eBay links don't work on this forum for some reason. This is the item # of one of their cages that would be a better size for an eclectus

lovely cage. i think u could do with a bigger cage tbf. all my birds are in huge cages bigger the better for ur bird so he/she wont get bored and have plenty of room to spread his wings

Alright, thanks guys. The cage hasn't shipped yet so I will talk to the seller about upgrading. If I can't, looks like I just bought another cage for my parakeets. :D

I agree with the others on the size of the cage. If you can find one that is in the 30 inches wide it would be better.

We have looked at that cage on e bay also, looks nice. We are looking at another one that says 36 x 24 x 71, not sure they are measuring the cage or the catch tray. Is this large enough for a Amazon? Large jump in price from 30's to 36's.

There is a huge price jump. But Chris Winkler gave me the item number 390283121009 for ebay and said it would be a much better cage size for the 170. Which is the same price I paid for mine. I did go to the pet store today to talk to the lady there that I like so much. She did say that it was a small cage as well which was not the question at this point. As I am moving to Arizona and am going to be traveling with my bird back and forth would this cage suffice for short trips back to VA being that he will not be in the cage all that often at all? I figured I could leave it at my parents home kinda like a second home for my new fid. Also, does anyone have suggestions for names? I was thinking "Skyler." I have always liked that name and being that I probably wont have any actual kids, I didn't see the problem with naming my fid a name I would name my son.

Scratch that on the price of that cage. It is an extra hundred for shipping. But you can find them free shipping on ebay.

250706884821 This item number on Ebay is the cage I would like to get. If the one I just bought can suffice for the time being then I will save up money for one like this. :)

I hate when they rape you on shipping. Something you always need to watch especially on eBay

If anyone does buy a cage or something online, check the "free shipping" filter so you aren't looking at items you have to pay shipping for. Generally you can find the same products for just as cheap without the shipping, brand new.

That's a nice one also, you getting the original cage you bought?
We are thinking on this one 300518413638 from eBay. Anybody have experience with this brand?

It's the same, but with shipping included. The paint on these is not an issue is it?

My Echo has a similar cage but it has a front door that opens flat. A feature I love since I usually put the fruits and veggis in a bowl in the door.

I am getting the original cage that I put on here only because I already paid for it. Chris showed me the one on here that was much larger for the same price which I thought was nice. I am going to keep this cage here at my parents house and I am going to buy another one for my house in Arizona. This way he has the two different homes he can hopefully be comfortable in. But the one that I get for when I move to Arizona is going to be a larger cage. And like Chris said they have a very similar cage that has a door that opens flat on the front. I will see if I can find it.

350386280450 One like this. However... This is pricey. I forgot to mention Mondo that the one you were looking at is the same business I went through and will be going through again to get my larger cage. The package shipped within hours of me buying it and I literally have a step by step as to where my package is right now. It just left Chicago at 132 this afternoon on its way to Roanoke by plane. Should be here at my house tomorrow. I just bought and paid for it on the night of the 25th. From all their ratings and the number of people that have rated from them though, I would say you can't really go wrong. I will let you know more about the quality of the cage once it gets here though. :D

Very nice choice, We are still undecided. Have the books on there way though!
Be sure and let us know how everything goes!
