Chewie's progress :)

Hey everyone

So the other night, Chewie and I had our first cuddle! She let me tickle her on the head and cheeks and looked like she enjoyed it. I feel like we're really making progress - i don't wince or anything when she nibbles me, just say no, bad bird if she does it too hard, and she's not screaming for me when I go and have a shower now too!

I think she is still 'beaking' though... I'm wondering if its because she's still nervous, she gets this stressy pose (wings out, beak open, squeaking) if i put my hand anywhere to fast or somewhere she wasn't expecting. Its ok, she's only tiny at just 3 months old now, I was just wondering if any of you have experience of baby green cheek conures, and how long it took for your birds to be cuddly and non-nippy to see if little Chewie is on the right track

Aww hello Chewie! My GCCs took a month to warm up to me, and they were the same age as Chewie. Bit they ran for the hills when they saw me, they were'.nt nippy at all. I just had to build trust with them. Seems like your on the right track. They still don't like cuddles, but I think that is just some weird thing of theirs. They love me now. I bet chewie will too.

Aww I hope so! Do your conures have days when they chatter loads? Chewie keeps making all these funny noises. Its late afternoon here and she's quacking and squeaking to herself! I think she's happy, she was perched on her springy toy, all fluffed up like she was snoozy
