Chicken Crazy or Crazy Chicken?

One of our ten hens is a golden yellow Silkie. She's every bit as calm and tame as they say. I've brought her in the house once in awhile.

I had a black Rooster named Cole that I used to carry around the farm. We accidentally got 2 Roosters when we got our chickens, and he was much much smaller than our hens and the bigger rooster, so Cole had free reign. He had the sweetest personality!

This is why I need a farm again! Chickens!

We started with a dozen chicks from the local feed store, figuring some wouldn't survive, but they all did. Two turned out to be roosters we had to give away, due to tract houses nearby. Complaints to the city wouldn't be welcome. One of those roosters was a Silkie, and wife had named the silkies, Blondie and Dagwood. Maybe we should have tried to keep him, but that would be risking the flock.

As you may know already (from my pic) I love chickens! I have a pet rooster. I love him to death and he's a real part of the family! He comes inside the house with me and sits on my lap while i read...He likes to peck all the letter E's on each page!

When i go into the garden he gets excited when he sees me, he runs towards me and sometimes flies onto my shoulder.

hahaah ^-^ these are the type of chicken my mum intends to get in a few years when we finally do up our garden. She has always wanted chickens, and we finally have a yard big enough.

years ago when we lived up north I also had silkies as well as other types of bantum chickens they are so cute and sweet natured. Millie Fleurs are another beautiful bantum chicken. They are very colorful and long feathers and feathered feet. Alison and sweetie pie. Ps I miss my chickens but we are in a deed restricted community so no chickens.
