Choking, Regurgitation or just happy to see us?

Hello! We're new and have an issue with our Caique, "Buddy". He's begun exhibiting a "neck stretching and choking or regurgitating action, possibly crop adjustment? I saw him do it when he was young and thought it was feeding behavior. Now he's older (several years) doing it more often, he doesn't seem to actually be choking nor does he actually regurgitate. I'm not sure of "his" sex but have also heard that it could be mating or recognition behavior. He does it for both my wife and I. Should I be worried? Otherwise he's very active, vocal, friendly and the regular Caique clown! Any advice?

Yes you got it right, this is not a choking issue. He is either very happy to see you (and so a kind of mating response) or readjusting his crop. I tend to thing the former.
