TL/DR: Is my chop recipe okay? And how do you like your squawkbox subscription.

Good morning! Just wanted to share my chop recipe, get some gentle feed back, and share pictures of my new guy. This is Full Day #2 with tacocaT L. Bird (Taco for short). He is friendly, social, and loves to eat.

His breakfast is: carrots, corn, peas, Lima beans, zucchini, broccoli tops and its leaves, orange and red peppers, crushed red pepper, basil, celery leaves, watercress, cooked butternut squash and its seeds, sprouted lentils, ground and whole flax seed, a seedless grape, cooked quinoa, cooked brown rice, dry whole oats (to absorb excess moisture from the freezing process) and both sprouted and dry chia.

He’ll get apples and berries in a foraging toy later this afternoon. Plus an almond or sunflower seeds as training treats (he’s already targeting like a champ!) I am blown away by how smart this guy is!

I also ordered a squawkbox for him. Does anyone use that? How do you like it? Is it worth it?

Chop recipe looks great! I can’t really critique a thing except perhaps a need for more robust leaf presence (cabbage, kale, chard, etc), but honestly, for a chop this robust who the heck cares! Not everything in parrot food has to be cabbage or kale.

I had celery leaf, broccoli leaf, and watercress. He loves the broccoli leaves and picks out the others so I’ll need to food process those better, I think. But next week we have some amazing beet greens that I am going to blanch, chop, and add. I’ll try to get some good kale too. Thanks for the insight!

Me either, and I have one :ROFLMAO: I make chop and my Ekkie likes it for a week. Then he begins to play with it, or sticks it in his water. I get no appreciation :ROFLMAO:
I feel your pain, Ekko does the same thing.
