Cleaning vet tape on a pvc playgym

Hi! I recently made a playstand for my bird and she loves it. It's all wrapped in vet tape which really helps her grip, but sometimes she poops on it. How do I clean it? I tried wiping it off but there's gotta be a better way.

If I don't catch it when it's wet, I wait until it dries and then scrape it off with a perch scraper tool and use the vacuum cleaner to suck up residue. I've also hit with briefly with my steam cleaner. I end up replacing it every few months when it starts looking ratty.
