clicker training help

I would like to clicker train my Quaker parrots but they get scared of the stick each time it goes near them. What should i do?

Try a bamboo stick, a pen with the ink removed, or any other object. Use something your bird is not afraid of and might be curious of. Maybe even look for a stick that you could attach a small ball to the end of it?

If your bird is afraid of the target item, regardless of what it is, then try leaving the object in view of your bird with treats around it so your bird can get used to it.

Maybe a teaspoon? or even your hand could be used as a target...

Don't show them as much of the stick. Hide most of it behind your hand and just show them the tip.
