I was in charge of my niece today when we went back to school shopping. I didn't get to pick the place so we were stuck in Wal-Mart. I could not BELIEVE what they had for little girls.
Since my sweet little 5 year old niece is not a prostitute, we had a really small selection.
I remember one pair we tried on that should have been fine.. her size and all. Was so skin tight on this little twig of a girl. She said to me, "Auntie Sarah, I think these are the right size but what if I get a wedgie? I wont be able to get it out at all!"
Kids say the darnedest things!
One nice pair had buttons up the front and I thought about it.. small child.. big girl bathroom.. 3 buttons.. only 5-6 hours in the school day... I told her if she could button them herself in under 5 minutes she could have them. She couldn't.
We finally found stuff for her, after wading through lying sizes. Apparently, since no one wants to admit to being over weight, they even fudge the kids sizes.
It was really so disappointing. I had to say no to so many things and she didn't understand. I just don't think low-riders are appropriate for small children. She got mad because I had them on, lol. I pointed out that no one wanted to look at my scary belly button with all the cuts and scars anyway. She complained that I still wore it. So then I told her to just be quiet, I'm taller and I get to make the decisions. That got me a snarl so I gave her a piece of candy. That worked
