coating off the bars

This morning as i was changing their water i found out their was coating missing on the thick bar under the bowl.
It's about 3 cm.
I am deadly scared they might go chew on it,i tried to cover it up with tie rips.
But with what could i fix it?
i don't know if it was my bird who did it or the mice problem we have.
We have been trying to capture them peace fulky,but this proves that it isn't working.

I've heard of some people using vet wrap to cover the spots... however, over time you may need to get the cage repainted, or simply replace it with a new one.

Í did bought some vet wrap on my way home.
This is the only spot so this will do it,i think.
And the cage is not even an half year old,costed me 450 euro's outch!
