Im new to parrot keeping. I just bought a 7 year old Cockatiel 2 days ago. She is adorable and she likes me and we developed this thing where i call her pretty girl and whistle to her and she chirps to me. She is very vocal. Its cute she is quiet when i leave the room. Sometimes when she hears my voice she chirps loud or if i leave the room and she wants me to come back she chirps loud for a few seconds. But she just started this new thing where she calls me into the room and when i come in she bites her wooden perch and then bites the side of the cage at the end of the wooden perch.

Idk maybe she wants to come out now. But the only thing is she likes when i talk to her and she likes me being around her and she doesn't mind my hands in her cage as long im not trying to touch her. So therefore if i try to ask her to step up she pecks at my finger. So my point being is if i left the cage open for her to come out im not gonna be able to put her back in. and i don't wanna have to throw a towel on her just to put her back in the cage cause thats cruel.

It does sound like she wants out.To.get her back in you can use treats, find out what she really likes and give to her only at that time. Are her wings clipped? If so she will probably stay on her cage and it will be easier to get her back in. If she can fly it will be a bit more of a challenge but still doable.
