I'm in between considering a cockatiel and sun conure ,so I want to know about both species . I'm depending on the cocka tiel experts on here also how cuddly can they get what's their age

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a cockatiel (tweety) and a sun conure (Papaya). If noise bothers you the Tiel would be the one but I still LOVE my Sun...she has a bigger personality. When Papaya screams I whistle back to show her there is another noise she can make and it seems to be working.

I'm agree with jkee57, i also own 4 cockatiels n a sun conure. Cockatiels are cute n they does not make so much noise , but a sun conure even though they are loud but still they are so cute, they nice, n really can make u smile all the time..

Oh i love my cockatiel! His got real character, he makes me laugh all the time! lol. But thwn again all my birds make me laugh :)

My female cockatiel is quiet and demure. She is a scritch monster, can't get enough, but that's the extent of her cuddliness. She also likes to take the keys off my laptop and fly into walls. Sun conures, from what I can gather, are not so quiet and demure.
I had a male cockatiel for 7 months. He was a rescue and I ended up giving him to a breeder after his problems got worse with me, not better. But I loved him. He would whistle all through the afternoon, and also loved scritches. Little more active than my female, also played with toys more. Still not up to the Sun Conure's activity or snuggle level I don't think though.

personally I'd go with a GCC before a Sun, they're much more quiet and just as much of a snuggle bug

I have had both cockatiels and a Sun. The Sun was my favorite BUT they are very loud....very demanding and take alot of time and interaction to keep happy. They also tend to be a one person bird whereas cockatiels are more family friendly in my experience.
