Hi, I have a 5+ year old female cockatiel paired up with a male that's around 1.5 years old, they get along just fine and tried breeding 4 times, 2 of those times the eggs turned out to be infertile and had weird yellows stripes or something that I can't really describe, the 3rd time they layed 3 eggs, 2 of them were fertile, (btw they eat a varied diet so they're healthy and everything) sadly they died in the middle of incubation 😔 The female might be older than I think I have no clue about her age but the last clutch showed fertility which wasn't a bad sign. So now I decided to remove the nest box and let them rest before a 4rth attempt (in which I will get them a bigger cage and a more suitable nest box) so now even without a nest box they're mating and I have no idea what to expect, maybe it's just for pleasure but will she lay eggs or not??? I hope not but I must be ready for anything.
