cockatoo how long for eggs from mating

Hello

I have two umbrella cockatoos. A male and a female. They are both going into the nesting box allot. I have some grass and wood shavings in there. How long from the time a cockatoo mates until it lays eggs.

Any help appreciated.

You can google how to breed cockatoos? You will plainly find information that says, the male often times kills the female instead of mating with her!! They become very aggressive during mating season! Only extremely experienced bird breeders should try this!!

Breeding cockatoos is a very difficult proposition. Very important to first learn about their behaviors, including the infamous killings as described above. Special next-boxes with two openings are critical to help ensure the safety of the hen. If you do not have past experience, perhaps a breeder may be willing to assist, especially if you are breeding for your own purposes. In either case, it is necessary to do much research *before* attempting to breed!
