Hello, :white1:
I recently inherited a cockatoo and a macaw from my father who passed away and I have both of them living in the same cage because they have been together and get along very good. When we woke up this morning we noticed an egg at the bottom of the cage. The macaw is a male and the cockatoo is a female so I am wondering what we should do with both the egg and the cockatoo. I wish my father was alive because he was actually a avian specialist who often advised vets and sanctuaries, and these were 2 of his 40 birds that he brought with him wherever he went and were very special to him. They are also great with our 2 young daughters so I want to make sure we take good care of them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just because the bird laid an egg doesn't mean it is viable...

I would never house a cockatoo with a macaw due to cockatoo's dust as a lot of macaws do develop an allergy towards it. By housing them together your asking for it. If she shows interest in the egg let her incubate it, not like it's going to be fertile or anything. If she's not interested, toss it! But do give her a few days to decide.
