Codie went for me today!!!!

Codie went for me this morning for the first time EVER!!

We have the same routine every morning... Nothing had changed about the routine today! I uncovered her at normal time and she usually puts her head down for me to pet her, which I do for 5 Mins, then I take her Bowls out and put her breakfast in... But for some strange reason this morning, instead of wanting scritches, she fanned her tail out and lunged at me with a vengeance.. not just once, but twice Lucky enough I managed to get my arm away quickly before she had done any real damage In all the time I have had Codie, she has never done this to me

It has made me realise, that we should never become too complacent with our Birds, no matter how loving and friendly they are, as I have found out today that they can just attack for no apparent reason

Maybe she is just having an off day, but I will now be slightly wary of her incase she does it again.

She probably had a reason. I've found that Merlin carries grudges & never forgets a slight. Hope Codie isnt mad @ you for too long.

Please don't take it personally though. He may just be feeling his "oats" a wee bit, wanting to see IF he can intimidate you.

You probably did absolutely nothing wrong or out of the ordinary, so don't worry yourself needlessly.

I'm sure he'll be his loving self again in no time at all.

She is absolutely fine now.. She is happily playing on her stand and everytime I walk by her, she puts her head down for scritches

I think she must have got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning LOL

No, I didnt have anything different about me at all today

Sorry to read that Cody has awoken with the grumps, has his temper improved after a bit of breakfast? Is he moulting? Hope he didn't hurt you (apart from your feelings*).

Yes, she certainly woke up grumpy this morning

She is molting and I can also feel that she has alot of pin feathers, so I am thinking maybe these are irritating her!

She has been fine for the rest of the day and is acting her normal self with me

Your right though.. my feelings were hurt as she has never done it before and I was totally shocked by it :11: She is taking a little nap at the moment

Yes I have forgiven her As soon as she put her head to the side and looked up at me with those big brown eyes, I knew we were Friends again

I have a feeling it could be her pin feathers irritating her!! She has quite a few coming through and maybe she was warning me not to pet her

You are right, when she puts her head to the side and looks up at me with those big Brown eyes, then my heart melts It was almost as if she was looking at me like that and trying to say " Sorry, I didnt mean it" LOL
