Hi! I have a male african grey. I was wondering if getting another male grey is a good idea? Will they be compatible or should I get a different bird like a cockatoo. Any help is welcomed.

that really depends on your gray lol if you have enough room for 2 cages,
plus if you got female gray , you could end up with babies, and keeping them apart when there in season would cause alot of stress for them

if your bird is happy now, i'd say leave it be, as there is a chance he might not like new companion!

i'd like another parrot, but holding off as i dont have room for 2 cages and just incase nut, does not like new bird lol

this is just my take on from 1 bird to 2 lol there are lots of ppl that have more then the one bird and they all get along fine :)

Greys like other greys. I just got a baby GCC and he attacks my grey. I keep them apart because of that.

Any reason you couldn't keep them in the same cage, if they like each other, e.g. grew up together? I'm looking to purchase a pair at six weeks, and hope to keep them together in the same cage early on.

Any input on the pros and cons of doing so is highly appreciated.

Don't you have a cockatoo also. Does your grey not get along w/him?
