Hello! I'm very excited to be getting a Conure after wanting one for years :D I've done a ton of research but is there any tips/things I should watch out for as a first time (Conure) owner? The little guy I'm adopting is 4 years old and should be getting him this week :)

beware the honey moon period.
Usually when a bird first comes home it can go one of two ways. either they're rather scared of their new surroundings and want nothing to do with you OR they're rather scared of their new surroundings and are clingy.

Now in situation A) the bird can become more comfortable in their new situation after a couple weeks and be more approachable with you. Or it can take awhile for them to adjust
In situation B) They can be super "friendly" at first and then theyll get more confident in their new surroundings and less dependent on you and be little buttholes.

It really really varies from bird to bird but keep in mind that the behavior your bird expresses when you JUST bring them home may differ after they get more comfortable.
