my 3 month old crimson conure Chili, has become friends with my 4 month old lovebird Halo. so far so good with the both of them, here's the question, I noticed when they are cuddling and getting sleepy, my conure puts a wing over my lovebirds back.(almost like an arm around another person) has anyone ever heard of this or knows what it means?
I'm assuming it's a sign of affection, but not sure.

sorry the picture is so small, next time I know to re-size it

Picture turned out fine! Clicking on it makes the image larger!

I've seen conures, macaws and cockatoos do that. Neither of my conures ever did/do, so it seems to an individual thing and probably a way of 'cuddling'.

Very cute, btw!

This is good to hear. I have been raising a lovebird and a sun conure together both from the age of 3 weeks.THey do everything together. So I hope that because they were raised together that they will be besties. I afraid that the conures strength may hurt the lovebird.

Aww cute! They are bonding it sounds like. I've seen this before (the cuddling) in you tube with a gc conure and parrolett that have a close bond. Here is a link if you want to see one of their videos. I love their videos they are so adorable!
