I made an appointment for Monday but I wanted to hear what you all think.

I noticed while giving my conure pets on his head that there is a tiny, tiny little red bump on his skin. it's about 1-2 MM in diameter. could this be a feather cyst or a just feather that hasn't grown yet? he has lots of pin feathers on his head right now and the other day when I was helping him with them, he made a sudden movement and flew away and one got pulled out by accident😭. I had the little feather in my hand with half a sheath on it. I can't remember which part of his head it was from but it was definitely from his head. Could the bump be from that? He's about 1.5. yrs old. I don't see any feather head growing from the bump or anything else. Has anyone seen a feather cyst on a conure's head before? I'm googling things and becoming more and more paranoid/crazy/worried. Is there anything I can do to keep it from turning into a cyst?

Trying to decide if I should go to the vet immediately or if I'm just being irrational. I made an appointment for Monday. Should I just take him in tomorrow or wait awhile to see? How long does it take to show a feather head? I'm so worried. Thanks!

he was miraculously still and being super sweet while I recored this, I think he thought he was getting cuddles lol.

Do not recognize this but if the size is stable, should be OK until Monday. If you have a working relationship with the vet, perhaps they can view the video and give better advice.

Smart to get him to the vet. Keep us posted!

Thank you for your response. It was a new feather! A little baby one is emerging from it :p. I cancelled my appointment for Monday but am going in for his annual next month. e
