Creeping fig for parakeet??

I just got my x-large cage in for my parakeet and was really wanting to add a little green in there for my baby girl! I read on a few sites that a Creeping Fig is a good plant to put in so I bought a small one, took out the Fertilized soil on the top half and replaced it with all natural top soil. (I read that the earthier the smell the better and let me tell you this one smells earthy all right ). Before I actually put the plant in I want to quadruple check that this is in fact a bird safe plant. Thanks from Caso and I!!!

Hello!

Creeping fig is in the Ficus genus. As such it would be toxic.

Thanks so much, I've been holding off on putting it in until I was sure. Either way the plant will make a nice addition to my garden
