That's too cute. Dallas was probably very content for a good amount of time with a simple straw. My tiel likes to chew on plain white napkins.

her favourite game with them is to carry them over to the edge of the cage and drop them on the floor and stare at them until i come pick them up.... just for her to drop for her. i think it's a cute game. its a favourite!

I get a box of the larger straws like you use for a frappe or shake and then just tie a simple knot and that one straw will keep a fid happy for a few days

my tiels favorite toy is this spiral cut, springy bunch of straws. I go through them like crazy - wish I was crafty so I could make them myself!

i believe you need a special tool for it, otherwise i am sure mine would love them the most too

It is called a Whirly Wacky and it spiral cuts straws. You can also use an old fashioned small hand type pensil sharpener but I have had mixed results. Some straws worked well and others I couldn't get to work. I am going to have to pick up a Whirly Wacky. Some craft stores carry it and I think Amazon.com has it in the childrens or craft section.

It's just amazing that you can buy an expensive , quality toy and the fids don't even take a glance at it, then you find them playing with straws,plastic spoons, ect... Great pics, and Dallas is pretty handsome tiel !
