I'm so sorry. I had a similar expereince with my first Alex. Dot died 6 days after bringing her home. We found out that all 3 babies from the same laying died very young and suddenly in the same way. A necropsy is the best way to find out what happened.

Agree with the other members. If you get a necropsy the vet should give you a documented reason and you could get your money back from the person or org. where you purchased the bird. Shame I am so sorry. You need to protect your other birds and there are many viruses out there.

my first parrot was an alex, after having him for 3 days he died :[ the other babies went to another lady and they died the same morning too! very sad.

Paul as you probably
do not have good access to avain vets etc in your country it Is extremely hard to
know exactly what happened

Please scrub and dissinfect everything this bird came into contact with or you could run the risk of loosing your other birds

I'm sorry for your loss

Hello everyone i need a help. I have 2 Alexandrian baby parrot from 6mth . But last night i lost one suddenly. I dont know what happen with my baby bird. Now my one baby is alone in a cage i just kept him when there is need to sleep but still he is very sad can any help me what i do for this little bird so he feel happy

In order to make it easier to see your question I’d recommend starting your own thread asking this question.

also posting in the Alexandrin forum and not the budgie one will help bring in those who know more. step 1 is to get a necropsy on the first bird to find out what happened , get the second bird a full check-up from a CAV including blood work and gram stains. also you need to fully disinfect the cage to stop infection spreading

This thread is 7 years old, if you need help start a new thread.

Your best bet is to take them both to a Certified Avian Vet. The dead one to get a necropsy done (to see why it died) and the other to do a full checkup on health. You may end up losing both babies very soon if you don't hurry.
